My heart is heavy with the loss of a mentor and dear friend in Ruth Matranga.  I worked with her when she worked with Union Bank for over 25 years under different names. It was a magical experience full of interesting programs for which she taught me so much about retail banking and then some.  The many associates were all incredible and we made many great things happen over many years. I am blessed to have had her in my life.  Susan Fielder
A fifty year friendship, what a blessing from God.

Kim We've been thinking and Praying for You The Boys and Your entire Beautiful Family... Love You and I'd be Honored to bring And Read from Great Grandma Norris bible... Love You All...

I worked with Ruth at Union Bank from 1993-1999.  Overall, she was a trusted, "go to" source of knowledge and advice throughout the Community Banking Group.

Ruth was uniquely suited to her position. She was a multi-tasker, with unfailing energy and enthusiasm. Ruth was wise, not just functionally, but in her knowledge of people, and how to get things done by working with and through others. Her advice was sought, not just by her staff, but by her colleagues, senior managers, and by her bosses, including me.

Ruth mentored many employees, not just those on her staff, but many in other parts of CBG. Seeing them thrive and grow in responsibility was a key source of pride for her.

Ruth's infectious laugh and "can do" attitude endeared her to everyone. She was admired and liked by so many people.

I was privileged to continue as Ruth's friend after her retirement, and mine in 2006. My husband Richard and I were very honored to have her officiate at our wedding in 2015.

I will miss her very much.

Ruth’s wise, calm, fun spirit will remain a treasure in our hearts. Enjoyed occasions with our spouses Wally & Leon. Blessings to her family, Yolanda & Leon Brown
I remember how amazing Ruth was at corralling all of middle management at Union Bank into somehow believing we agreed on the path forward. A very rare, appreciated skill with tons of emotional intelligence.  I learned a lot from her and am very thankful that she was part of my life.

I’ll always remember the many trips to Warner Springs Ranch with the extended family. Playing bingo for dollar store prizes and making hot cocoa. And who can forget the “egg-smelling” natural hot spring. I hope to raise Maren and Henry with a core memory like this. I’ve even checked a few times to see if it’s opened back up (it hasn’t…)
