Ruth's obituary

We sadly announce the passing of Ruth Peyregne, who was called to heavenly rest on October 31, 2024. Born on July 26, 1941, Ruth was a towering figure of singing, love, care, and compassion, whose vibrancy and warmth touched everyone around her.

Ruth is survived by her sons, Andrew and Jeff Peyregne; daughters-in-law, Amanda Peyregne; grandchildren, Christopher, Hayden, Caylee, Keeleigh, Archer, Castiel, and Jasper Peyregne. Her loss will be felt profoundly by all of them. She was predeceased by her beloved spouse, Bennie L Peyregne, whose memory she kept every day.

Much of Ruth's life was dedicated to service and community. She attended First Baptist Church of Dawes, Praise Family Church, a teacher and choir coordinator at Covenant Church and volunteered her lovely voice in various local choral groups that performed at nursing homes. Ruth had a sweet tooth, loved Golashe without the sauce, and was always ready for a cup of ice water or coffee. She found solace in the teachings of The Bible, and joy in the music of Elvis Presley, Dolly Parton, and Roy Orbison.

Always engaging with the world around her, Ruth enjoyed watching Joyce Meyer on television, treasured movies like The Notebook, and was an ardent fan of the Alabama sports teams. Her favorite ways to unwind included playing Jeopardy, Wheel of Fortune, crosswords, and singing. She cherished the beauty of the Bayou, peaceful car rides to the country, and time spent at her local church.

Ruth deeply cared about the causes of St. Jude's and Mission of Hope. Her favorite color was blue, and in lieu of flowers, donations are being welcomed at "Help with Funeral Expenses" https://everloved.com/life-of… in her memory.

Those who knew her best will remember Ruth as someone who cared more for others than herself. She was a loving figure, a wise teacher, and a protector. Her life lessons include, "Don't lie for God sees all," "Do unto others as you want to be done," and "sharing is caring." Her greatest accomplishments and source of pride were her two sons and seven grandchildren.

Ruth leaves a legacy of love and selflessness, reflected in the eyes of her grandchildren who, like her, would give their lives for others. Her passing leaves a void in our hearts, but her spirit lives on, painting some of the most beautiful skies. Her soul, her wisdom, and her warmth will be greatly missed.
