It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Ruth Lacy. Born on December 15, 1945, she blossomed into a woman of vibrant personality and warmth, before leaving us on February 18, 2026. Ruth will be dearly missed, but her legacy of kindness and humanity will continue to live in our hearts.

Ruth was a proud graduate of Lincoln High School, Dallas, Texas, class of 1962. A lover of fine foods, she had a particular fondness for Fajitas. She delighted in various forms of entertainment, with "The Help" ranking as one of her favorite books. She found joy in the intriguing cases of "Perry Mason", her favorite TV show, and was deeply moved by the poignant storyline of her favorite movie, "Imitation of Life". A lifelong supporter of the Dallas Cowboys, Ruth was passionate about her local sports team.

A woman of varied interests, Ruth was an avid traveler who cherished her voyages on Carnival Cruises. With a favorite color as vibrant as her personality, purple, she often lightened the lives of those around her with her radiant, bubbly warmth. More than anything, Ruth was renowned for her kindness, perpetually inspiring those she met with her lessons on how to spread love and empathy.

Ruth's journey is survived and celebrated by her daughters, Virdie Latrice and Catrice Spencer, and her grandson, Cortland Nelson. She was happily married to her late husband, Roger Lacy, whose memory she held dear until her final days. Ruth's spirit, the embodiment of kindness and warmth, will continue to inspire her loved ones and everyone privileged to have known her. Her memory will always serve as a beacon of love, embodying the power of kindness that she advocated for throughout her lifetime.

Ruth may no longer be with us in body, but her soul and benevolent legacy will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of those she touched.
