Ruth's obituary

“Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints” Psalm 116:15

Ms. Ruth L. Jackson, age 87, traded her earthly body for a heavenly one at a local care center in Fort Worth, TX, on Thursday, November 10, 2011. She was born November 25, 1923, in Palestine, TX to Mr. Lee Alton Jackson & Mrs. Lela C. Allen Jackson. She was the only child born to this union.

She accepted Christ as her personal savior at an early age.

She was a long time faithful member of Mt Carmel Baptist Church in Fort Worth, TX, beginning with the late Pastor Rev. C. C. Carson, for many years; now under the direction of current pastor Rev. K.C. Grandberry. She retired after many years of service from All Saints Hospital in the Labor & Delivery department.

She was preceded in death by her father Lee Alton Jackson; mother Lela C. Jackson; Aunt Lenora Johnson; and great grandson, Kevin R. Galloway-Howard.

Survivors include: Daughter, Joan M. Jackson "Galloway" Glaspie; four granddaughters, Sandra K. Galloway Howard of Fort Worth, Monica A. Galloway-Middlebrook Houston (Robert) of Decatur IL, Della F. Galloway and Camille Galloway-Punch (Daniel) of Fort Worth; special devoted cousin, Ms. Althernet Jackson of Fort Worth; nine great grandchildren, Lee Alton Sowels (Doretha) of Rantoul IL, Timothy Dewayne Galloway, Shaquita Nicole Galloway, Christopher Galloway, Vanessa Dennis, Kristian Reshell Howard, Sir Kevin Renard Howard III, Krystal Howard and Kevianna Howard all of Fort Worth; three great great grandchildren, Nevaeh Marie Outlaw, Heaven’le Sue Ann Sowels and Le’riyah Ne’shay Sowels of Rantoul, IL; and a host of other loving relatives and dear friends.
