Ruth's obituary
We mourn the loss of Ruth Fisher-Cabral, born January 28, 1941, who left this world much too soon on August 12, 2023. Ruth will be remembered for her lively spirit and her undying sense of humor. Her witty nature and her innate honesty not only defined her personality but made her a treasured friend and family member to all who knew her.
A successful graduate of San Leandro High School in 1958 and Chabot College in 1981, Ruth embarked on a fulfilling career as a Medical Assistant. Notable among her professional achievements, she took great pride in her work for Attorney Charlie Way, where she served many and made significant contributions to the firm. Yet, she always considered her greatest accomplishments to be her marriage and her two children, Tony and Vicki.
Though Ruth was predeceased by her parents, brother and her son, Tony Cabral, her legacy lives on through her spouse, John Cabral, daughter Vicki Bruening (Michael), and her brother, Gary Curley(Diana), sister, Sharon Bradford ( Michael). Four grandchildren; Ryan Cabral, Erin, Megan and Callen Bruening. Survived by neices and nephews, cousins. Ruth's loved ones will forever remember her loving heart, particularly towards her family, friends and pets.
She always stressed the value of honesty saying, "Be truthful." This simple yet profound lesson is one among many that she shared with others. Ruth's sudden passing due to an ischaemic stroke is a stark reminder to treasure each day with our loved ones.
In lieu of flowers, Ruth's family asks that donations be made in her name to the American Heart Association at https://everloved.com/life-of…. Her life was one filled with love, laughter, and service. She will be deeply missed by all those who had the privilege of knowing her.
