Ruth's obituary
Ruth E. Cole, 92 of Exeter, California, with great sadness passed away October 7th, 2022, at her grandson's home surrounded with love.
Ruth was born May 8th, 1930, in Marshfield, Missouri to Des and Inez Palmer. She attended and graduated from Marshfield High. At the age of 18 she headed out west to California to help her sister and brother-in-law. She then met her first husband, where they had two sons. While in California, Ruth worked in restaurants as well as packing houses and soon met her late husband, Arthur Cole. While residing in Tulare County, they purchased The Orange Bar in Lindsay, California. Later, the couple established a home in Exeter, California, where Ruth was a resident for 38 years and an active pillar of the community. After retirement, they enjoyed taking vacations in their trailer to San Simeon and Morro Bay, California. Where they loved to camp, tour Hearst Castle, take walks on the beach for seashells, deep-sea fishing trips and relaxing. While Arthur was busy rebuilding bicycles for kids in need, Ruth kept busy raising grandchildren. She was very passionate about growing plants, flowers and several varieties of Roses. She also loved her weekly gossip trips to the beauty salon to get her hair done.
Ruth always welcomed anyone into her home, where you instantly became family, and her home became yours. You could never leave her house on an empty stomach. Most of all, Ruth loved her family and friends and instilled good values in her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren that have served them well. She will dearly be missed and forever in our hearts.
A remembrance of Ruth's life will take place graveside November 4th, 2022, at 2pm at the Exeter Public Cemetery; 719 E. Marinette Ave. Exeter, Ca 93221. Flowers may be sent to the same address.
