Ruth's obituary
In loving memory of Ruth Brambila, 62, who gained her angel wings on December 13, 2022 after braving a 5-year battle with breast cancer. She passed away peacefully in her sleep surrounded by love and prayers in her daughter’s home in Long Beach, CA. Ruthie, as her loved ones called her, had such a loving, tenacious, genuine, and beautiful spirit.
Ruth was born on July 3rd in Los Angeles, CA. Daughter of parents Rodolfo Brambila and Maria del Carmen Brambila. Beloved sister of Alfredo Mesa, Rosa Fuller, Teresa Dingman, Alex Brambila, Ana Reisner, Roberto Brambila, David Brambila, and Daniel Brambila. Dearest mother to loving children Marlyn and Jonathan Pineda.
A ‘kindred soul’ growing up in the 80’s, she always said how everything changed for her when she had her children. Her family was her sole focus, and she worried over and took care of them until the very end, sometimes to the exclusion of her own needs. Ruth excelled at propping up her family and supporting them through the many passions and difficulties of their lives. She was in essence the ‘heart’ of the family. Ruthie never complained, even through her most difficult ailments, she always had a smile, kind word, and cheerful spirit.
Ruth graduated from Our Lady of Loretto, Class of 1978 and graduated from Cal State LA with her Bachelors in International Business. She began working at Caltech University in 1991 and remained a dedicated employee for over 30 years until her retirement in 2022 as Senior Contracting Officer. She was well recognized for her impeccable work ethic and friendly demeanor; always mentoring others. Ruth was proud of the work she did.
Ruth was also passionate about her faith. She was a true warrior and her faith in God was unwavering. She expressed her eternal gratitude for all the love and support her family and friends showed her while caring for her in her last years.
Ruth was truly blessed. She left an everlasting imprint on everyone's heart and will be dearly missed.
