Ruth's obituary
Ruth Louise Ball, 86, passed away Tuesday, November 2nd in Lakewood, Colorado.
Ruth was born on August 10th, 1935 to John and Mary Alice VanHole, in Valley Falls Kansas. The family eventually moved to Topeka, where she graduated from Topeka High School and Washburn University, with a degree in teaching. She taught for one year at Grant Elementary School in Topeka. The following year she was recruited to teach in the Jefferson County Public School District in Colorado. Ruth taught 1st grade at Bear Creek Elementary, where she met her future husband, Ray Ball, who was the principal at Bear Creek High School at the time. She eventually ended up at Green Mountain Elementary, retiring in 1989.
Ruth was an avid reader and loved to travel, play golf and spend time with her friends and family.
She is survived by her daughters, Stephanie and Suzanne, brother Steve VanHole, niece Diane VanHole and numerous lifelong friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Mary VanHole, husband, Ray Ball and niece, Carol VanHole.
