Rusty (Russell) Warren Gilbert went to his heavenly home, peacefully, on Saturday, August 3, 2024 at age 52.  Rusty leaves behind the love of his life, Libby Roussel; daughters MacKenzie Gilbert and Molly Gilbert; parents Linda (Jackie) Hutto and Jack (Marilyn) Gilbert; step sister Susan (Alan) Hudson; step children Kaitlyn (Steadman) Bishop, Noah Miller, Emma Miller and grandson Lincoln. 

Rusty was an accomplished electrician. He was also an avid Alabama football fan. Rusty enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was an all-round handyman. Rusty served in the U S Army and loved his country. He loved his family and friends in Alabama and Louisiana. He especially loved being “Pap” to Lincoln. 

A Celebration of Life service will be held at Rock Creek Church of God, 1001 Park Road, Bessemer, Al on Saturday, August 24. Visitation will be from 1:00-2:00 pm The service will begin at 2:00 pm.
