From Rusty's sister, Angel:
This is my Bubba Rus. Rusty is what other people knew and recognized as an avid car guy. He built this car in these pictures and raced it, winning a ton of trophies . We, the ones close to him, knew he was so much more . He had a wild soul but loved the simple things . To me he was rock and roll in the garage wearing house shoes. He was the man who shared his chicken pot pies with me. He protected me fiercely and I loved him to no end. The way he looked at his wife Sam was pure love and awe that she loved him despite his gruffness. He knew he won the lottery with her but didn't understand how we were so much better off for having him. This past Monday on November 6th, my brother passed suddenly from a heart attack due to heart disease. We were definitely not expecting this . All but 1845.00 has been paid and we can not bring him home until it is paid off . If anyone can spare even $5, I would be forever grateful for any help.
I am Lindsey, the owner of Yunker Motorwerx where Rusty worked. When we heard the horrible news Monday night, we were so saddened that we lost a wonderful member of our team, our family. We were very blessed to have Rusty and our other mechanic, Buddy stay on with us when we took over from the previous owner this summer. From the beginning, we felt it was meant to be that we got them in our lives and are so sad that our time with Rusty was cut short! Rusty was a kind and giving soul and made our lives better these last few months… he leaves behind a wife and family that are equally wonderful! This is a very difficult time for them so we would like to help in anyway we can. They hope to have a celebration of Rusty’s life in the Spring but need help bringing him home now, as this was so unexpected and they just weren't prepared.
We are collecting donations at the shop for Rusty’s family and on this site. Thank you so much for all of your help! Rest in Paradise our friend! Contribute
