Rustom's obituary
Rustom Khodadad Demehri (born Rustom Irani), was born on February 5th, 1950 and passed away on March 3, 2025 at the age of 75 years old. He was born in Mumbai, India, the son of Khodadad and Meherbanoo Irani. Rustom was a brilliant student who was admitted to the India Institute of Technology (I.I.T.) in Bombay where he excelled in Electrical Engineering. From there, he received a scholarship to come to America to earn his Master’s Degree and pursue the American dream. And he pursued it with all his heart. He married the love of his life, Sarvar Demehri, and the two of them moved to Orlando, Florida.
Rustom worked for a company contracted with NASA to help design their circuit boards, and in 1984, the year his first child was born, he took a leap of faith with Sarvar to start their own company. He started United Security and Communications where he could design his own security systems and serve the central Florida community.
Rustom was incredibly humble and even more hard working. He never saw his occupation as a job but, rather, as his purpose, and that purpose gave him deep joy. Rustom worked full-time until the very end. His company will now continue in the hands of his wife Sarvar and his nephew Rushad, who will carry on his legacy.
Rustom was a joyful, radiant soul who was always happy and always laughing. Making others laugh was his greatest joy. He also had a love for animals that was unmatched, caring for them as he would for a human.
Above all things, he believed that his greatest legacy on earth was his family. He was deeply committed to raising honest, humble, educated children who would use their education to do good deeds in this world. His children, Farokh Rustom Demehri and Natasha Demehri Kathuria, will continue to live their lives in honor of their father’s legacy.
Rustom is survived by his loving wife and children; his son-in-law Neil Kathuria and daughter-in-law Angela Demehri who he loved like his own children; and his grandchildren Zubin, Xavier, Ava, and Cyrus, who were the light of his life. Rustom believed strongly in the three principals of our Zoroastrian faith: Good Thoughts, Good Words, and Good Deeds. He lived a life humbly by these virtues, and his legacy will live on through his family.
