He is also survived by his sister, Rennee Swanson, and his brother Roy B Whitehouse Jr. Russ was a proud father to his son, Michael (Jewel) Whitehouse, and daughter, Kelly (Col.Greg) Penfield. His legacy lives on in his beloved grandchildren: Devin (Derek) Dzuck, Joel (Madi) Penfield, and Aubrie Penfield, sisters-ln-law Donna (John) Whitehouse and Cathy (Gary) Schrader. He will also be missed by nieces, nephews and cousins too many to list.
- Russell was predeceased by his father, Roy B Whitehouse Sr., his mother, Elizabeth (Dea) Whitehouse, his brother, John (Donna) Whitehouse, and his dearly missed daughter, Elisabeth (Betsy) Whitehouse and Brother-in-law, Gary Schrader.
An accomplished man, Russ served with distinction in the US Navy during the Vietnam era. His dedication and courage were unwavering. After his military service, Russ pursued a fruitful career as a journeyman Ironworker for over 50 years. Russ’s commitment to his trade led him to serve as an apprentice instructor for Ironworker Local 512 for several years, passing on his knowledge to the next generation of workers.
Russ’s greatest love was undoubtedly his six great-grandchildren: Lilly, Braedon and Myles Dzuck and Jennifer LaFontaine, and Ezra and Evangeline Penfield. Their laughter and joy brought much happiness to his life. Their memories of their 'Great Granddad' will serve as a constant reminder of his love and devotion.
As we remember Russell, we honor his service, his dedication, and most of all, his unyielding love for his family. His life was a testament to his enduring spirit and will be remembered for many generations to come.
Per Russ’s wishes, there will be no formal service.
