Russell Roberts, born February 6, 1952, passed away peacefully on October 20, 2025. A man of intense loyalty and hard work, Russell left an indelible mark on the hearts of all who knew him.
Russell was a devoted father to his daughters, Tracie Ost, Lindsay Lemperis, and Michelle DeVries-Zahrte. He took great pride in his sons-in-law; Robert Ost, Eric Lemperis, and Kevin Zahrte. He was a beloved brother to Michael, David, and Norman Roberts, and equally adored his sisters-in-law, Carolyn and Tina Roberts.
His love and generosity extended to his many nieces and nephews; Corryne & Chuck Poskocil, Caty & Jim Glowacki, Christina & Thomas Amos, and Jonathan Roberts. The joy of his life lay in his grandchildren; Kayla & Dustin Potts, Greyson Roberts, Bryan Potts, Cameron Moody, Matthew Potts, Lorelei Lemperis, Emma & Austin Welch, and Grayson Welch.
Russell was predeceased by his parents, Elinor and Richard Raymond Roberts, and his sister in-law Debbie Roberts, grandparents Elisabeth and Ray Snowberg, John and Margaret Roberts. A true family man, Russell enjoying spending time with his loved ones above anything else. He will be deeply missed by his extensive family and all those who cherished his vibrant presence.
Known for his love of country music, and a good T-bone steak or prime rib, he was a loyal fan of the Chicago Bears, Cubs, and Blackhawks. His favorite TV shows included Gunsmoke and Bonanza, reflecting his simple and classic tastes. Russell was also fond of riding his Harley and making treks to the Sturgis SD for the motorcycle rally. His favorite local haunt, The Moose Lodge, will surely miss his cheery presence.
Working as a tree surgeon for 46 years, Russell instilled in those around him the values of hard work and dedication. He was notably proud of his daughters, considering them as his greatest accomplishments. His legacy of kindness and willingness to help people will continue to inspire those he left. Russell Roberts, a humble and generous man, will be greatly missed. His memory will be carried on in the hearts of those who loved him, and his legacy of kindness will continue to touch lives for generations to come.
