Russell E. Miller, 75, of Pinconning, Michigan passed away peacefully while surrounded by his children on August 22, 2025 at Covenant Healthcare. Russell “Russ,” graduated from Western Michigan University with a degree in Mechanical Engineering and was known as a brilliant innovator within the engineering industry. On a weekend at Western, while skiing and surely showing off he met the love of his life, Ruth, and they have been happily married for over 50 years. He lived every day of his life with the happiness, generosity, and grit that made his countless friends adore and respect him.

Preceding “Rusty” in death is his eldest daughter, Sarah Banner whom he affectionately called “Sassy,” his parents, Russell and Jean Miller, and twin brother, Rick E. Miller. Russ will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Ruth; their children Andrew (Julie) Miller, Susan Miller, and son-in-law Jonathan (Sarah) Banner; his grandchildren, Elsie and Ezra Miller, brother, Robb (Micki) Miller, niece Maegan VanSolkema, nephew Reed Miller and their families. “Russ-dog,” known for his love of fostering and spoiling dogs, will certainly be missed by Cece and Chuck– 2 of the hundreds of dogs he has loved throughout his life.

Russell shared his wishes to be remembered quietly with his closest family and friends at a private celebration of his life. Those that would like to express their sympathy, memorial contributions may be made in Russ’ name to continue care for his wife, Ruth.
