Russell's obituary

Russell Durham’ Obituary

Russ Durham, 84, beloved husband of Betty L. Durham,  father of Anita Ronald (Roger Ronald) and brother of  Bernard Durham, and  his much loved Schnauzer, Danny Boy,  passed away unexpectedly on September 26, 2016 after his hip replacement surgery. He was one of the good ones. Russ suffered much loss in his early life but met the love of his life, Betty over 60 years ago.  He worked hard all of his life to make sure his wife and daughter had a higher quality of life than he had had as a youth.  He was a drug pricer and ran his own inventory business most of his adult life, only recently retiring. Russ made sure that his daughter went to private schools and made it possible for her to pursue a nursing career. He was one of the most responsible people ever. In his retirement years, he enjoyed studying history, politics, playing chess and recently developed a love of opera. He could name any actor he saw on Turner Classic Movies. Russ had such a great sense of humor, he kept his nurses smiling at the hospital. He cared so much for his wife, Betty that all the time he was in the hospital and rehab, he was asking about and worrying over her, not himself. He truly loved her. He never wanted anyone to worry, unfortunately he did all the worrying for all of us. We will miss him so much and always will.
