Rudy's obituary

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Rudolfo “Rudy” Marino, a beloved husband, father, Papa, and friend, on May 5, 2023. He was 66 years old. Rudy passed away at home surrounded by loved ones. Rudy was born in Santiago, Cuba on July 12, 1956. He moved to New Jersey in 1971, where he met the love of his life and future wife, Marilyn. They had 4 children, Liza, Marcel, Rudy and Kevin.

In 1994, Rudy and Marilyn decided to move their family to Ormond Beach, FL.

Many in town know him from his career selling automobiles at many of the areas dealerships. Whether it was your dream car, first car or a car for your kid, he was your guy. Rudy was adored for his kindness and charisma by many far and wide. His greatest joy and pride were his four children and 5 grandchildren.

Rudy loved his family more than anything else in the world.

A Catholic mass will be held in Rudy’s honor on Saturday, May 13 at 11 am at Prince of Peace Catholic Church at 600 S. Nova Road, Ormond Beach, FL 32174. A private viewing for close family and friends will be held on Friday, May 12 from 4 pm - 6 pm at Volusia Memorial Funeral Home, 548 North Nova Road, Ormond Beach, FL 32174.

Rudy is preceded in death by his son, Marcel. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Marilyn, who was by his side for 50 years; his sons, Rudy and Kevin; his daughter Liza and her husband Ryan; and his 5 grandchildren, Trysten (15), Riley (11), Griffin (10), Hayes (6) and Luna (4), as well as numerous other family members. His presence in their lives will be deeply missed.

Rest in the arms of the Lord, Rudy. Your memory will live on forever in the hearts of those who loved you. We know you have your salsa dancing legs and gregarious laughter back!
