Ruben's obituary
Ruben devoted his life to serving our country and his community. He retired from the United States Air Force as Master Sergeant. Amongst his career in the Air Force and the Air National Guard, he fought in Desert Storm and served his country for 20 years. Once retired from the military, he became a firefighter for the Nashville Fire Department. He proudly served his community and saved lives for 33 years and retired as a Fire Captain.
Ruben was preceded in death by his mother, Irma Lopez Najarro and sister, Irma Kessler. He is survived by his father, Carlos Ruben Najarro; wife, Alecia Najarro; daughter and son-in-law, Chelsea and Stephen Masterson; sister, Rosana Molieri; and beloved granddaughter, Emma Masterson.
Ruben loved his family relentlessly. He showed up when it mattered, was an unwavering support and shoulder to cry on when times were hard, and would share laughs and smiles when it was time to party. His character was one to be admired.
Ruben was a devoted and loving husband to his wife Alecia. Anyone who encountered the couple knew that they were still very much in love after 38 years of marriage. They took care of each other in ways that many people dream of but never achieve. Their love is one that saw many places, overcame many obstacles, and loved fiercely until the very end and for the rest of time.
Ruben cherished his daughter, Chelsea and his granddaughter, Emma to the ends of this Earth. His girls meant the world to him and he spoiled, took care, and protected them happily and diligently. He was a proud Father and Papa Ru. He can rest easy to know that his legacy and memory will live on for future generations with so much love and respect for the man that he was.
Anyone who knew Ruben knew of his loyalty, work ethic, charisma, sense of humor, sincerity, and love for his family. His presence and energy were unparalleled and people naturally gravitated towards him. There was something so great about him and we are the lucky ones to have known him in any capacity. May he rest easy and watch over those of us that are still here.
There are no formal services planned at this time. Ruben will be lovingly sent off at a later date at Manhattan Beach Pier in California, where he wished to be his final resting place. In lieu of flowers, the family has set up a fund to which you may extend your sympathies for Ruben's Celebration of Life.
