Ruang's obituary
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Ruang "Pen" Bushey, who left this world on August 8, 2025. Born on January 4, 1954, Ruang had an incomparable spirit that touched most people she met. Pen, a sweet nickname that suited her warm, funny, strong, and sensitive demeanor. Ruang was a beacon of unapologetic authenticity who taught all those around her the importance of being true to oneself at all times.
Ruang's greatest accomplishments were not defined by typical milestones but instead by the way she took care of her family. Her proudest achievement was her over 37 year marriage to Earl S. “Buddy” Bushey, raising her 2 children Alinya Bushey (Anthony) and Timothy Bushey (Melissa) and the joy of becoming a grandmother to Aliyah (Alinya). In addition, Ruang found immense satisfaction and fulfillment in babysitting her granddaughter and nurturing her beautiful gardens, a symbol of her dedication and care.
Ruang leaves behind a tangible legacy of laughter, tenacity, and boundless love. She believed firmly in the power of joy, always encouraging those around her to find fun in life's small moments and persist in the face of adversity. Her wisdom and strength of character will continue to guide and inspire her family and friends for generations to come.
Beyond her dedication to her family, Ruang's passions included planting, family beach and mountain trips, and dancing, those simple joys that brought her immense happiness. Her greatest desire was to share these joys with her family and friends while creating lasting memories. Her capacity to love and care deeply for her family will forever live on in their hearts.
As we mourn the loss of Ruang, we also celebrate her remarkable life and the extraordinary woman she was. Her loss is deeply felt by all those fortunate to have known her and she will be remembered forever.
