Roy E. Salsman, 72, of Wyalusing, PA, peacefully passed away on February 19, 2023 with his wife at his side, after a difficult battle with Metastatic Lung Cancer. Roy was born on February 10, 1951 to Betty & Romaine Salsman in the small town of Sayre, PA. After Roy graduated from Wyalusing Valley High School in 1969, he pursued a degree in Aviation at Mansfield University of Pennsylvania. Roy later went on to attend Motorcycle Mechanics Institute in Phoenix, AZ. In 1968, he met Sandy in high school and they graduated together. A few years later they were reunited, married on May 27, 1996 in Herrickville at the home of Floyd & Jean Lent. They spent 48 wonderful years together. Roy and Sandy had a combined total of 4 children, Cory, Roy Jr, Sabrina and Jennie. Roy retired in 2006 from truck driving. While retired, Roy had time to pursue his love of square dancing, fishing and small motor repair; as well as traveling with his wife Sandy and their dogs, Pepper and Little Man. Roy was predeceased by both of his parents, Betty and Romaine Salsman and both of his sons, Cory and Roy Salsman Jr. He is survived by wife Sandy, his daughters Sabrina and Jennie; his grandchildren Douglas Vanderpool, Roy E. Salsman III (Peanut), Nicholas Salsman, Katarina M. Evans, Jadon Z. Evans, Ethan, Jude & Aanson Maughan; Great Grandchildren Secret & Promise Salsman, Zachariah Contreras & DJ Vanderpool; as well as his siblings James (Jim), Romaine (Bromo), Diana, Ruth and Robin and a multitude of nieces nephews cousins and aunts and uncles. A celebration of life will be held at Spring Hill Community Hall located at 4225 Spring Hill Road, Wyalusing PA 18853 on April 29, 2023 from 11am to 3pm. The family is asking that you please bring a dish to pass.
