Some of my all time favourite memories involve times spent with Roxinne. Meeting her for the first time as a 12 year old on my first overseas adventure, I thought my excitement would trump all others but not Rox. She was standing at the gate at LAX waving with more enthusiasm than I had ever seen. She took us straight to a little Mexican place for lunch, kicking off our adventures.

She lived with such passion and was a tenacious spirit, which shone in everything she did. I won’t ever forget her crying at midnight on the Vegas strip, watching the Bellagio fountain as the Star-Spangled Banner played.

The things we did when we were in the US, (along with Janice, Tom, Lauren, Sarah, Bob, Sonia, Karen and Ellen) are memories I will cherish forever. It’s not every day you meet someone who will keep your homemade spaghetti sauce for 15 years.

Having her come for our wedding was an honour. The last time I saw Rox was when she drove Amber and I home in a wedding getaway car so we could escape our own wedding! Of course, she was more than happy to act as getaway driver and take us off on another adventure.

We will miss you always ❤️

Roxinne McPhail

12/09/1961 - 22/01/2025

Dear Roxinne, Our friend since the mid 60’s when Dad and Bob first met and the Mcphails and Langridges then met for the first family occasion.

From then on she was entwined with our family and became a great friend to us.

Sadly, the McPhails left for Melbourne in the 70’s and after a few years moved back to the USA to Minneapolis.

Mum visited in the late 70’s and travelled up to Belmont where Rox will be buried and where Bob's family had come from.

We travelled to the USA in 1980 where I was reacquainted with a wild, teenage Rox.

Over the years we visited the USA again, Roxinne also came to Australia a number of times including a long Period in 86/87 where she nearly made the move to return back to Australia permanently.

In 2003 we had a fantastic time staying in San Diego with Roxinne, Driving to Vegas with her after which the family toured the National parks driving Roxinnes Volvo. Michael had his 15 BD and Roxinne cooked up an Indian feast at his request which we did at Janice's place .

Roxinne had many ups and downs over the years and survived a couple of major crises in her life, always managing to pull through and get back on her feet. Her resilience was amazing in being able to head to the unknown of Bismarck, Nth Dakota to start a whole new life after being affected badly in the 2003 GFC.

Over her life Roxinne worked in Business, Restaurants, Real Estate, Public Service, She was an Entrepreneur and Property Mogul She was a wonderful Aunt to Lauren and Sarah.

She last came to Australia in 2019 for Katie and Ambers wedding and I last saw her for the four days in Las Vegas last year. Our last thing was dinner down on the strip and wandering around the Venetian where I bought my Psycho Bunny T shirt. That was a signature part of my friendship with Rox buying shirts over the years with Roxinne choosing or giving her approval. We walked back after the 11.00 pm Bellagio fountains. The next morning we went our separate ways.

Roxinne was a loyal friend and I’m sure saw Mum (Jean) as her 2nd mother. She spent many, many weeks in all at 13 Morrell Place where Mum became a support for her on many occasions as she struggled with a number of difficult issues.

It's very sad to be standing here saying these words as her death was so unexpected. She will be buried in the tiny town of Belmont, Manitoba in the early hours of tomorrow with all her family in attendance.

RIP Roxinne.

Peter, Michael, Katie, Amber, Susie, Don, Heather, Rob

Roxinne was a great friend of our families and an all round awesome person to be around.

When we visited San Diego in 2003 she was so generous with us and was the life of the party on our adventures

I spent alot of time travelling in her truck on that trip, sometimes with her dog Elco chatting about all sorts of American and Australian things.

We took fun trips to Vegas and up to Santa Barbara and Disney and those are great memories for my Sister Katie and I.

Rox came and visited us in Australia a couple of times as well.  It was always great to see her when she visited. I'm very glad dad got to see her last year when they planned the vegas footy trip.

I will miss her checking in on messenger to see if I'm watching Sunday night Football or the Superbowl on a Monday morning here.

Roxinne was much loved by all the Langridge family.

Michael, Monique, Charlie and Harvey Langridge

Roxinne, a loving, generous friend who will always be remembered by my family and me. My love and condolences to her dad Bob, sisters Janice and Karen and her beloved nieces. Always in my heart.
Roxinne was a force of nature.  Magnetic and so full of life, she will remain in our hearts and we will always remember her brevity in this life.  Rest in peace❤️
We too are saddened to hear of the loss of our dear Roxinne! Please accept our sincere sympathies to all who share in her loss. We will join you to celebrate her life in Belmont in June. We believe she would want that. Sincerely Valerie and Vernon Williamson

Roxinne was one of the best things that's ever happened in my life. Her and I just connected fr the get go...we are middle child...ha ha...

Some of my fondest childhood/teenage memories are with her at Grandma and Grandpa McPhail's farm/lake etc.

Roxinne had a super spark for life and was one of those rare people in our lives who just made you feel better by being near her. Everyone who ever met her her just loved her.

I miss her so much even though we hadn't been together much over the past yrs. When we met up again at our family reunion 6 yrs ago...it was like we'd never been apart. Some great things don't change and when we got together again after such a long time, it was like we'd never been apart.

Such a wonderful person....I think of her with a smile. Roxinne is without a doubt one of the greatest people I've been blessed to have in my life.

My heartfelt sympathy goes out to Uncle Bob...Janice..Karen and family for such a huge loss.

Roxinne...I love you and will never forget you. I'm a better person because of you.

Love your cousin Jude.
