Roxanne's obituary

Roxanne Budeski Stout, 73, of Stevensville, MT, passed away peacefully on April 3, 2024, surrounded by family at St. Patrick’s hospital in Missoula, MT.

Roxanne was born March 4, 1951, in Great Falls, MT, the oldest of six children of Janice and Ronald Budeski. She attended Central Catholic High School in Great Falls where she was very active and won awards for oral interpretation, competed in swimming and diving, and worked as a lifeguard during her summers. Roxanne then attended Denver Women’s College, majoring in public relations. Following college she excelled in many areas, including working at DA Davidson in Kalispell, serving as campaign manager for Fred Thomas for the Montana legislature, as director for the MS Society in Great Falls, marketing director for Images Design, in Darean, CT (where she also did some modeling) and as marketing director for Southgate Mall in Missoula.

Roxanne ultimately settled in Stevensville, making it her home. She was extremely involved in the community, serving as president of the Stevensville Community Foundation and on the Chamber of Commerce board. She also loved being part of the arts and was involved in community theatre. Her greatest accomplishment was being founder and owner of Bitterroot Marketing, where she received numerous local and national awards.

Roxanne’s interests included politics and traveling, including trips to Europe, Jamaica, and the San Francisco Bay area, a place she loved and returned to often. She was a first-class cook and decorator, who enjoyed hosting family and friends, and went “all out” especially during Halloween, Christmas and Easter. Roxanne was a devoted Catholic throughout her life and attended Sunday masses whenever she was able.

She loved animals and children, adored her two stepchildren as her own and was a great influence on their lives, as well as her godchildren Jennifer McGrew and Sarah Budeski, with whom she shared a special connection. Roxanne loved being a grandmother and took any opportunity she could to spoil her grandchildren.

Roxanne was preceded in death by her father, Ronald Budeski, mother, Janice Budeski; and brother, Eugene Budeski. She is survived by two stepchildren: Scott (Dena) Stout of Lolo, MT (grandchildren Daemien and Olivia) and Aurora Stout of Seattle, WA; siblings: Lynda (Jim) Monroe of Phoenix, AZ; Sandi (Kent) Brick of Mandan, ND; Chris (Sandy) Budeski of Bozeman; and Heidi (Frank) Jacobson of Colorado Springs, CO; and many nieces and nephews.

The family is currently formulating plans for a memorial service this summer.
