Roxanne's obituary

Roxanne Kay Hamburger

August 17, 1954 – September 2, 2024

Roxanne Kay Hamburger, 70, of Littleton, Colorado, passed away peacefully in the comfort of her own bed on Monday, September 2, 2024, surrounded by loved ones. Born on August 17, 1954, in Greeley, Colorado, she was the youngest of three children born to Max and Alice Hobbs.

Roxanne graduated from Greeley Central High School in 1972 and later married the love of her life, Jay Hamburger, on October 20, 1974, in Greeley. Together, they built a beautiful life, raising their two sons, Toby and Cory, in a home filled with love, laughter, and devotion. She was a nurturing mother, active in her children's lives, and found joy in being both a stay-at-home mom and later a school health clerk at Jackson Elementary. Her commitment to her family extended to her community as she also substituted at other schools in Weld County School District Six.

In 2007, Roxanne and Jay moved to Littleton to help welcome their granddaughter, marking the start of a new chapter. Roxanne cherished every moment with her grandchildren, Danica and Milo, and found immense happiness in baking cookies and other treats with them. She was their biggest fan, never missing a concert, musical, play, or sporting event, always supporting them with warmth and pride.

Roxanne found peace in nature, often spending time on her patio watching the birds, squirrels, and other wildlife she so lovingly cared for. Her compassionate spirit extended beyond her family; she was an active volunteer in her church, participating in various charity efforts, including the Denver Rescue Mission and Food Pantries/Banks. Roxanne’s kindness and organizational skills helped coordinate several volunteer activities, leaving a lasting impact on those around her.

She is survived by her devoted husband, Jay Hamburger; her beloved sons, Toby and Cory Hamburger, and their wives, Rachael and Talya; and her two adored grandchildren, Danica and Milo. Roxanne also leaves behind her brother, Terry Hobbs (Sharon), and sister, Jody Hobbs, as well as many friends and extended family who will never forget the love and joy she brought into their lives.

Roxanne was preceded in death by her parents, Alice and Max Hobbs.

A celebration of Roxanne’s life will be held on Saturday, October 12, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Family Worship Center, located at 6395 S Clarkson St, Centennial, CO 80121.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made in Roxanne's memory at everloved.com/memorial/roxann….
