Roubina Bahlavouni Baghdassarian was born on April 11, 1930, in Tabriz, Iran to Yeghishe and Nevart (Malentzian) Bahlavouni. At age 3, her family moved to Tehran, where she attended elementary and high school. Roubina taught physical education to elementary school students before working at Hoechst Pharmaceuticals. She was also very active in the PTA of the school her daughters attended.

Since a very young age, Roubina was an active member of Ararat Armenian Cultural Society (Hye Meshakutayin Ararat Kazmakerputyun) and (TEAT Tehrani Yeridasarakan Arvesti Tadron), where she met her future husband, Souren Baghdassarian. Roubina and Souren were married in February 1957. Together they had three daughters: Alenoush, Shakeh and Biayna. They moved to Los Angeles, California in 1985. They frequently traveled to Boston, Massachusetts, visiting Shakeh and Gaspar and their children.

Roubina became a proud grandmother in 1981. She had four grandchildren, and she was always present for them, attending their school performances, concerts and graduations.

She lost her beloved husband to cancer in 1994.

Roubina passed away on February 12, 2021, in Glendale, California. She is survived by three daughters and one son-in-law, Alenoush Baghdassarian, Shakeh and Gaspar Hacobian and Biayna Baghdassarian; four grandchildren, Dion, Emineh, Celine and Sevana; niece Seda Bahlavouni and nephew Armen and wife Silva Bahlavouni; niece Anahid and husband Vahe Hovanessian; cousin Anahid and husband Gabriel Halebi; and Asi Hacobian and Aram Sirakian.

Roubina will also be forever remembered by extended family and many close friends.
