Rosylan Whiten Jones was a native of Mobile al and a resident of Killeen, Texas. She was born to the parentage of the late Clementine Stewart Law and the late Tucker Jones on June 27, 1951 in Clarke County.

Dot accepted Christ as her Savior in her twenties and was an active and devoted member of the Springfield AME Zion Church in Salitpa. Attending services regularly, she served as an adult Sunday school teacher, ACE in the Christian Education Department, vice chair of the Trustee Board and member, coordinator of the Young Adult Missionary Society, Preacher’s Steward, member of the board, class leader, leader of leaders, Lay Council president, choir president, culinary chair, member of the ADHOC Committee, sang in the Springfield AME Zion Church Choir, and was a member of the Angelic Stars Gospel group for 33 years until relocating to Killeen when her health began to fail. Retiring after more than 25 years of employment at Vanity Fair, she always had an outgoing personality and never met a stranger. She would always take the time to witness about the goodness and mercy of Jesus Christ anytime and anywhere. Wherever her heart felt a need to “lift fallen humanity,” she was there.

Following a three-year bout with cancer, Dot answered the Father’s call to enter eternal rest Saturday Dec 22 , 2018 She was 67 years of old.

Preceding her in death was her husband, Charles Reed; parents, Clementine Stewart Law and Tucker Law; sisters, Marie Law and Arletha Lisa Morris-Howze; brother, Melvin Law Sr.; and devoted nephew, Tawaski Law.

She will be loved and her memories forever cherished by her daughters, Jimetha (John Vallejo) Shoemo of Killeen Diamond Jones of mobile and Marian Collins of Mobile; stepdaughter, Tawanna Norwood; three grandchildren, Dekiston Davis of Austin, Texas, Jaylen Darrington of Killeen and Madelyne McConico of Leroy; two great-grandchildren, Khloe Davis and Landon Davis, both of Austin; three sisters, Pauletta McMillian of Walkersprings, Rosie Allen of Selma and Angela Bowen of Montgomery; two brothers, Alvin (Cheryl) Morris of Walkersprings and Bishop Theodore (Mary Lynn) Law of Zimco; two aunts, Dorothy Dubose of Jackson and Minnie Johnson of Calvert and three uncles, Chester (Betty) Law of Jackson, Mose (Arbie) Law of Salipta and Fletcher (Marye) of Pelham, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Public Viewing will be Friday, Dec. 28, from 1 until 6 p.m., at the chapel of Jackson Memorial Funeral Home, 203 East Ross St., Jackson. Service will be Saturday, Dec. 29, with viewing from 1 until the 2 p.m. homegoing celebration at Springfield AME Zion Church, 10107 Highway 69, Salitpa. The Rev. Mary Pettaway, pastor, will be officiating minister. Interment will follow in the Good Hope Cemetery in Salitpa.

Final life celebration has been entrusted to Jackson Memorial Funeral Home, 203 East Ross St., Jackson.
