Rosemary Eileen Pettinger, (Rose) a beloved resident of Des Moines, Iowa, gained her wings on December 21st from a courageous battle of colon cancer. Leaving behind a legacy of love and compassion. Born on August 8th, 1961, Rose was known for her infectious laughter, beautiful smile, kind heart, and unwavering dedication to her family. She was actively involved in her children and grandchildren's lives. Rosemary loved being a grandmother! She is survived by her children; Matthew Pettinger of Des Moines,Ia, and Ryan Pettinger (Katie) of Des Moines, Ia. Sisters; Rochelle Renee, and Rhonda. Rosemary enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and sons. She loved being outdoors, music concerts, going to the Iowa State Fair, and thrifting. Rose loved watching her favorite team play, Green Bay Packers. Rose graduated Des Moines Area Community College with a business degree. Despite facing her own battles, Rose remained resilient and fiercely optimistic. Her faith kept her going. Daily she would study her bible. Her presence will be deeply missed, but her legacy of love, compassion,and empathy will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her. She was preceded in death by her parents Bill & Carole Stripe, brother Randy Stripe, sister Rebecca Pettinger, and step son Israel Pettinger.
