Rosemary's obituary
Rosemary Rossell, a beacon of strength, kindness, and warmth, was born on October 17, 1945, and passed peacefully on November 22, 2023. She will always be remembered for her unwavering kindness and an inspiring legacy of confidence and perseverance.
Surviving Rosemary are her twins, son Richard (Tony) Rossell with his husband Cesar Delgadillo, and daughter Rhene Cruz, with her husband Ricky Cruz. Along with her two precious granddaughters, Katelyn Golik and Zoe Rossell with whom she cherished baking Christmas cookies. She also leaves behind her cherished siblings, brother Rick Haines, and sisters Terri Ruggeri and Gail Jarrard. The rest of Rosemary's extended family was her world, and she always found immense joy in their company.
Known for her eclectic taste, Rosemary's favourites spanned a broad spectrum, from the homely comfort of Shepherd's pie, her guilty pleasures of ice cream, and caramel, to the insightful narratives of the television show, Sunday Morning. Her appreciation for various art forms was immense, with favourites ranging from contemporary pieces to French provincial and classic Indian art. A theatre enthusiast, she loved performances such as Hamilton and The Lion King.
Rosemary found solace in the simple pleasures of life. She loved to tend to her garden and spend countless joyful moments with her beloved dog, Schmoopy whom she adored. One of her greatest joys was performing a beautiful dance with her dance partner and friend Chuck Braswell, Ballroom dancing formed not only her favourite recreational activity but also her preferred form of exercise along with pilates and riding a bike for some fresh air. She was a seasoned traveler, having visited places like London, Spain, France, Singapore, Hong Kong, Japan, Germany, Ireland, Canada, and Moldova. Always adding a touch of sparkle, wherever she could.
One of Rosemary's notable feats was taking multiple top honors in competitive ballroom dancing. She shattered glass ceilings by becoming one of the first female managers in the male-dominated field of manufacturing, where she expertly managed a $4 million production line in the early '80s. These accomplishments stand as a testament to her spirit of 'believing in oneself and persevering' and 'always taking the high ground' - lessons she lived by.
