Rosemarie's obituary
Rosemarie Margarete von Töpfer, born August 7, 1933, passed away on September 19, 2025, in Scottsdale, Arizona, at the age of 92, going home to be with her Lord and Saviour.
Faith, resilience, and devotion to ministry shaped Rosemarie’s life. In 1976 she married Bernhard Joachim Leuschner in Brookline, Massachusetts, and together they welcomed two daughters through adoption from Brazil, Laja in 1980 and Lissa in 1983. The family lived in Berlin until 1992, when, following God’s calling, they relocated to Scottsdale, Arizona. After Bernhard’s passing in 2005, Rosemarie was later blessed to share her life once more in marriage with Konstantin Skandalis, who also preceded her in death.
Her Christian faith guided her every step throughout her life, sustaining her through hardships and losses while also blessing her with tremendous joy and strength. With that same faith, she dedicated her life to her ministry, bringing comfort and spiritual guidance to countless people throughout her lifetime. She will be remembered by many for the faith that defined her.
Rosemarie is survived by her daughters, Laja and Lissa, and her grandchildren, Lily, Luca, and Livia. She is reunited in Heaven with her loving husbands Bernhard and Konstantin, her beloved mother “Nani,” and her dear sister Annerose, “Aunty.
She held fast to the promise: “In Christ shall all be made alive.”
