Rosemarie's obituary
Rosemarie Williams Kellar, age 77 went home to Jesus on June 13, 2022.
Rosemarie, or "Rose” or “Rosie", was born to Sgt. Ray and Armarie Bounds Williams on December 09, 1944, in Houston, Mississippi. She was a 1962 graduate of Calhoun City High School in Calhoun City, Mississippi. While in high school, Rose played the flute and was a majorette in CCHS Marching Band. This was an activity she truly loved along with participating in many Christmas Parades and Band Competitions. She also enjoyed mentoring younger band members.
Rosemarie attended and graduated Wood Junior College in Mathiston, MS in 1964. While working in the family restaurant business in Calhoun City, Rose continued her education taking classes part-time at Ole Miss and Mississippi State in pursuit of becoming a social worker. Those plans were altered in 1967, when Rose met the love of her life, James Kellar at the Belmont Cafe. They married November 3, 1967, and went on to have 4 children, Tim, Jamie, David, Andy in Houston, Texas. James brought his 3-year-old daughter, Rhonda Martin into the family from a previous marriage.
In addition to being a dedicated, loving mother and wife, Rose was also a social butterfly. She loved people and loved telling stories to whomever would lend her an ear. Throughout her entire life, she held an unwavering faith in God, which she shared with those who surrounded her. Rose was also a breast cancer survivor.
Rosemarie joins her mother and her father, her sister Angie, her husband James, her 2 sons Andrew and Jamie, and aunts and uncles in Heaven. She is survived by sons Tim and David, stepdaughter Rhonda, grandsons Jacob Kellar and Nicholas Martin, granddaughters Grace Kellar and Andrea Martin, sisters Gloria Williams Dyer and Margie Williams McNamee, half-brother John Williams, and a host of nieces and great nieces and a great nephew.
There will be a graveside service and celebration of life for Rosemarie on Wednesday, September 14 at 10:00 A.M. The location is Woodlawn Funeral Home and Cemetery at 1101 Antoine Drive, Houston, TX 77055. Her final resting place will be next to James and Andrew.
