Rose's obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Rose Berly Simeon, a beloved wife, mother, and friend, who departed this world on 12-24-2024. Born in Haiti, Rose lived a life marked by strength, resilience, and an unwavering will to fight for what she believed in. She was 42 years old.
Rose’s journey was not without its challenges. Throughout her life, she faced years of profound hardship, enduring significant struggles, including a history of sexual abuse that shaped much of her early experiences. Yet, despite these hardships, she was a hard worker, determined to make a life for herself and her family. Her commitment to her work and her education made her an exemplary student, never giving up on her dreams, no matter the obstacles.
Rose was a proud mother of four children. While two of her children were aborted before birth, the love she held for her surviving children was immeasurable. She fought fiercely to provide for them, always striving to give them better opportunities than she had. Her children were her heart, and she remained a steadfast source of love, guidance, and support for them throughout her life.
In her faith journey, Rose identified as a Christian, though her relationship with the church and Bible was complex. She never wavered in her belief, even if she didn’t attend church regularly or read her Bible as often as some might expect. Her belief in the power of prayer and faith in God remained a constant throughout her life.
Rose was a fighter, someone who did not shy away from standing up for what she believed in, even in the face of adversity. She was known for her courage and her ability to stand firm in her convictions. Whether in her family, community, or personal life, she always tried to make a difference.
Rose leaves behind her husband, children, extended family, and many many friends who will deeply miss her strength, perseverance, and spirit. Her legacy of determination and love for her family will continue to inspire those who knew her.
A private funeral service will be held for family and close friends. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to a charity that supports survivors of abuse, in honor of Rose’s enduring fight for justice and healing.
May Rose Berly Simeon rest in peace, forever remembered for her courage, love, and the indomitable spirit she brought to the world.
"She fought the good fight, she finished the race, and she kept the faith."
