**Obituary for Rose Mary Golla**

It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Rose Mary Golla, formerly known as Rose Mary Unger, who left this world on December 22, 2025, at the age of 95 in Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, surrounded by family.

Born on June 7, 1930, in Kittanning, Pennsylvania, she was a beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, and grandmother, whose warmth and kindness touched the lives of many. Rose Mary was the devoted daughter of Charles and Gertrude Unger, both of whom have preceded her in death. She epitomized the values of kindness, generosity, and integrity, traits that not only shaped her life but also left an indelible mark on everyone she met. She was a cherished sister to a large family, including 14 siblings who have also passed—each sharing the same loving spirit that Rose Mary exemplified.

A proud graduate of Kittanning High School, Class of 1948, Rose Mary dedicated her professional life to the Kittanning Telephone Company, where she served as Executive Secretary to the President. It was here that she embraced both her efficiency and her charm, making deep and lasting friendships with her colleagues.

Rose Mary found joy in simple pleasures, deeply engaging with her community and following her sports teams with fervor. Whether cheering on the Pittsburgh Pirates in the stands or following the Philadelphia Eagles and Pittsburgh Steelers passionately, her enthusiasm for life was infectious. Those who shared moments with her at home games or gathered around the television on game days will remember her fondly and miss her lively spirit.

Family remained at the heart of Rose Mary's life. She was a proud mother of Christopher Golla and his significant other, Jennie, ensuring that her children felt her unwavering support and love. Rose Mary relished the role of grandmother to Adelle McMullen, showering her with affection and nurturing her dreams. The bonds she forged with her family became her legacy, echoing through generations with the shared values she instilled in them.

A service to honor Rose Mary will be held at the Kennedy and Blodgett Funeral Home located at 253 N Grant Ave, Kittanning, PA 16201. Family and friends are invited to the viewing on Wednesday, January 21st, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, January 22nd, at 10:00 AM at St. Mary, Our Lady of Guadalupe, 101 W High St, Kittanning, PA 16201, followed by a graveside service at Rimer Hill Cemetery in Templeton, PA. A gathering and meal will take place immediately afterward at the Tidal Presbyterian Church, 567 Madison Rd, Templeton, PA, where we will share our cherished memories of Rose Mary.
