Rose's obituary
Rose Marie attended Nativity Elementary School, Convent of the Sacred Heart High School in Atherton, CA, and received her Associates degree from Cañada College and her BA in Business Administration from San Francisco State University. Rose found her soulmate and best friend, Ken, in San Francisco and was for married 43 years. Rose was the proud mother of two adult children.
Rose's professional life included careers in project, office and data management in both the U.S. and Holland. Over the years she worked for Esprit de Corps in San Francisco, Merchandising Methods Inc. (MMI), Instrument Society of America (North Carolina), Noesis, and the California CPA Society. Later in her career she found her true calling as a special education teacher's aide at Jefferson School District in Daly City, CA. Rose developed a strong bond with her students and loved celebrating their achievements and successes, big and small. Rose retired in 2016 to spend time travelling and later being Ken’s loving caretaker.
Rose always had a love for travel, music, singing and gardens, especially any combination of them. Outside of work, Rose was very involved with bible studies and adult education at The Church of the Good Shepherd, Cursillo, Marriage Encounter, St. Vincent de Paul, and the Pacifica Seaside Singers Chamber Choir. Through the years, Rose and Ken were avid travelers throughout the world. Rose was always ready for another adventure with friends and family to see and experience new places and revisit favorite places near and far. In addition to her family and friends, bike rides, walks on the beach, conquering labyrinths and visiting North Carolina always held a special place in her heart.
Rose was an eternal optimist and always saw the bright side of whatever came her way. She lived her life with exuberance full of love, singing and compassion. Rose leaves behind many dear friends and family who were blessed and uplifted by her enduring support and caring and her joy. She will be missed by many and will always be in our hearts.
Survivors include her son Peter (Shannon) and daughter Clare Owen (Josh). She is also survived by siblings: Bill Breen (Beth Dalapo), Mary Scruggs (Jeff) and Theresa Breen (Jeff Jaques); nephews Christopher, Kevin (Noreen) and Alex; nieces Anastasia, Lindsey (Dan Owens), Tesa (Carlo Carandang), and Vian Camille (Miki) (Sanjeev Malakar); and great-nieces and nephews Shei, C.J. Esa, Maeve, Finley, James and Saanvi.
Rose was preceded in death by her husband/best friend, R. Kenyon (Ken) Innes Jr. who passed away in December 2020, and her parents Bill and Freda Breen.
