Rosa Mae Shorts, 96, of Compton, California, passed away on December 12, 2022. Rosa was born on May 12,1926 to John Brown Keller and Vivian Jenkins the last of 10 children in Louisiana. After graduating from high school, she moved to California, where she attended nursing school soon after she landed her job at Gardena Memorial Hospital.  Rosa Mae met her husband William Shorts Sr.  they wed, and gave birth to one son William Shorts Jr., born October 3, 1951.

After retiring in her spare time, she adored spent her time loving on her grandchildren, watching her favorite TV shows, sending time with her only son William and playing the piano or organ was her favorite thing to do.

Rosa was predeceased by her parents and all of her siblings. She is survived by son William Shorts Jr, grandson William Shorts III, (wife) Hilda Shorts, granddaughter Robin Shorts, great grandchildren Kamela Shorts, Michelle Shorts, William Shorts IV, Dallas Shorts and Karrine Shorts.
