Rosa María Arechiga, age 73, passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her loving family on December 12, 2019, the Catholic Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe, for whom she had a special devotion.

Rosa María was born on November 2, 1946 in Aguascalientes, Mexico. She is survived by: daughter and son in law Rosa María and Mariano Retana of San Antonio, TX; daughter Patricia Arechiga of Houston, TX, daughter Gabriela Arechiga of New York, NY; grandchildren Mariana and Santiago Retana, her Yorkie Chloe, and many family and friends. Rosa María is preceded in death by her mother Rosa Elena Vazquez and her father Carlos Quiroz of Mexico City, Mexico.

Rosa María was a very generous, kind, and loving mother, grandmother, and friend. She enjoyed knitting, sewing, traveling, and spending time with her family and friends. Throughout her life, Rosa María was a devout Catholic and was a great witness of her faith. She dedicated much of her time to her family, helping others, and doing charitable work. She touched many lives and hearts during her lifetime and will be greatly missed.
