With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Rosa Angélica Aguilar de Ruiz -affectionately known as Mama Angelica by her family- a brave, loving, caring, and witty soul, on December 27, 2025. 

Born in 1950, Rosa lived a life characterized by faith, courage, love, and dedication to her family. Anyone who knew her, knew how much she loved hosting and cooking for her family. She could be seen making rounds making sure everyone had a plate before making her own. She would feed you even if she just met you. Her greatest joys were seeing her family come together to spend quality time, and going to church where she also made lifelong friends. She spent 47 lovely years married to her best friend, Francisco and were an example to all of true love and respect. 

Rosa was a woman of immense courage and determination. At a young age, she traveled alone to the United States, setting into motion a future marked by better opportunities and prospects for her family. She served as the pioneering foundation upon which many generations of her family could build better futures. This significant feat stands as one of her greatest accomplishments.

Rosa is survived by her husband, Francisco Ruiz, their three children; Jorge Aguilar, Veronica Aguilar, and Bertha Aguilar. Her memory will also be cherished by her grandchildren; Julissa Aguilar, Christian Aguilar, Kayla Aguilar, Daisy Carcamo Aguilar, Jayleen Palma, and Joaly Palma. She also enjoyed the blessing of meeting her three great grandchildren; Jowell, Josiah, and CJ. Each of them were a testament to Rosa's enduring love and dedication to family, the most important thing in her life, along with her faith. She was preceded in death by; her parents Alonso and Bertha, her brother Jose, and her son Carlos.

Her legacy, a legacy of kindness and generosity, will forever imprint on the hearts of those who knew her. Rosa’s spirit of love, care, and resilience will continue to inspire and guide her family for generations to come.

Nacida en 1950, Rosa vivió una vida caracterizada por la fe, el amor y la dedicación a su familia. Cualquiera que la conociera, sabía lo mucho que le encantaba que la vinieran a visitar y cocinar para su familia. A Rosa le sobreviven su esposo, Francisco Ruiz, sus tres hijos; Jorge Aguilar, Verónica Aguilar y Bertha Aguilar.
