R.D.'s obituary

Ronnie Lee "R.D." Wheetley, 60, Peru, passed away on Friday, April 9, 2021 at his residence.

Born June 24, 1960 in Searcy, Arkansas, he was the son of Frank D. Wheetley and Marvelene (Jenkins) Wheetley.

He attended North Miami High School and was a United States Army veteran, serving six years in the reserves. He was a logger by trade and enjoyed working in the woods. He loved fishing, mushroom hunting, shuffleboard, riding his bicycle, and spending time with his friends.

Survivors include his children Brittany (Nicholas) Tinney, Zionsville; Carrie Shrum, Texas; five grandchildren; mother, Marvelene, Mexico; two sisters, Delores (Bryan) Reed and Lisa Reed, both of Peru.

He was preceded in death by his father; one daughter, Kayla Wheetley; and one brother, Terry Glen Wheetley.

Visitation will be from 3:00-6:00 P.M. on Friday, April 16, 2021, at McClain Funeral Home.

A memorial service will be held at 6:00 PM following the time of visitation at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be directed towards the funeral home to assist with expenses.
