I just learned of Ronnie's passing. He and I were in the same OCS training platoon at Ft. Benning and ended up in the same Rifle Company in Vietnam; C/2/1, 196th Light Infantry Brigade. We exchanged Christmas Cards for a while and got together at a couple of reunions of the 196th. He was a friend, a good man and a great soldier. I will miss him.
Ronnie and I were both in the service in San Juan Purto Rico from 1963-1964. We had lots of memories for the time spent there.Rest in peace old friend.
We met Ronnie when we relocated from Texas to Georgia and became around the corner neighbors. Turned out that Ronnie and Chuck were fraternity brothers at UT Arlington although they graduated 3 years apart. True American patriot and a great guy. He will be missed.
Ronnie became a friend when we were both employed by Colonial Pipeline. I went with him to a few events regarding our shared connection to Vietnam. I found him to be friendly and caring, and he was always interested in Veterans. He was no-nonsense at work, but there was a gentle side to him also. After my family relocated, after retirement, we lost contact. My prayer is the wonderful memories his family has will carry them through the years to come.
