Ronnie's obituary
Ronnie Charles Page, 80, of Richardson, Texas, passed away at his residence on March 7, 2025.
Ronnie was born in Gorman, Texas on September 6, 1944. He grew up in Comanche County on his grandparents’ farm, attended school in Gorman, and graduated from Gorman High School. After high school, he studied at Tarleton State University and received his Bachelor's degree and became a lifelong educator. While working in public education, he earned several Master’s Degrees and was proud of his 300+ college hours.
Ronnie started his education career in DeLeon and moved to McCamey in 1972. He spent the next 28 years with McCamey ISD where he taught Typing, Civics, and coached football and golf. He later became the McCamey High School guidance counselor. He finished his education career in McCamey as the school district’s Business Manager. Ronnie retired from McCamey ISD in 2000 and moved to Odessa.
Ronnie cherished the years he spent in McCamey and the wonderful friends he made and the relationships he had there. Ronnie was loved and respected by his former students, players, and colleagues. Up until his health decline two months prior to his death, Ronnie maintained contact with them through phone calls and mail. The contact he had with these special friends always brightened Ronnie’s day. The effort they made to stay in touch with Ronnie was proof of how much of an impact he made on their lives.
Ronnie lived in Odessa until December 2023 and then he moved to Richardson, TX to be near the Neill family. During the time Ronnie lived there, the Neills enjoyed spending time with him and being with him in the final part of his life.
What we learned about Ronnie:
He was tender-hearted and a champion for the underdog.
He loved animals and as a boy on the farm, he rescued and cared for animals—a red fox and baby squirrels. He especially loved cats and fondly remembered his Chinese Pug, Hugo.
He enjoyed writing poetry and wrote some beautiful poems.
He had a big heart and a generous spirit.
He was a fantastic tipper! His mother was a waitress for most of her life, so tipping well was important to him.
He loved watching Sci-Fi and Harry Potter movies.
He had a wicked sense of humor, always enjoyed a good laugh, and was able to laugh at himself!
During the one year and two months that Ronnie resided at The Wellington Assisted Living Facility in Richardson, he endeared himself to the residents and the staff members there — particularly the ladies. He charmed them with “sweetie,” “honey,” and “baby doll.” Anytime Ronnie saw someone who needed help, he was quick to offer. Always the gentleman. He was grateful for those who befriended and helped him.
At Ronnie’s request, no memorial service will be held. Donations in Ronnie’s name may be made to:
