Well I was just checking in to try and get a current email address so that I could get hold of my old friend and see how he is doing. Then I was shocked to run into this obituary so I guess I will just add a few things.Ron was a very smart guy and we were in a common business as State Farm agents and I learned a lot from him about commercial fire insurance and how to go about expanding my book of business along those lines. We shared some good times together most recently in Bend,Oregon.Unfortunately we ended on a bad note when he refused to make a short drive up to San Francisco to check out a house rental that my step daughter was thinking about leasing. She was relocating from France to go to USF Law School.I was not familiar with that particular area of SF and knew that he would be.I was shocked when he refused to go as I would have been very glad to do anything to help him out with his Oregon relatives that lived very close to me if they had any problems,etc..I am pretty sure that the decision was made by somebody else as that was not the Ron Hicks that I knew......RIP Ron,missing you.
My dad taught me to drive. Oh boy for him. He would take me out in the car he purchased for me. It was a 1979 Mustang. I ran a red light by accident. I scared the crap out of both us.
