Ronald, “Ron”, Williams (79), passed away peacefully on March 5th, 2026, in Sarasota, FL, surrounded by family. He was born in Cadillac, MI, on July 24, 1946.
Ron is survived by his devoted wife, Maryann Williams of Sarasota, FL. His four children, Charlotte (Shawn) Sullivan of Bradenton, FL, Todd Williams of Palmetto, FL, Troy (Melanie) Williams of Bradenton, FL, and Tara (Sam) Chavers of Sarasota, FL. Eleven beloved grandchildren, Spencer (Elizabeth) Sullivan of New York, NY, Noah (Alecia) Williams of Palmetto, FL., Ethan Sullivan of Franklin, IN, Abby (Alex) Quinones of Jacksonville, FL, Sarah (Garrett) Sullivan of Indianapolis, IN, Reagan (Daniel) Brown of Spartanburg, SC, Riley Williams of Nashville, TN, Kallie Rae Williams of Gainesville, FL, Trevor, Harleigh and Charlie Chavers all from Sarasota, FL. All of whom were the pride and joy of his life. He is also survived by his sister, Sharon Morrow of Ann Arbor, MI.
Ron left behind a legacy defined by dedication, adventure, and deep love for his family and community. A respected respiratory therapist Ron moved from Cadillac, MI to open Blake Hospital. Ron later left the hospital and founded Williams Respiratory Services, which he owned and operated until retirement. Ron built a distinguished career grounded in compassion, expertise, and service to others.
Born with natural athleticism and an adventurous spirit, Ron excelled in sports throughout his life. He played college basketball, became an avid golfer, and was an enthusiastic diver. Whether on the court, on the water, or out on the course, Ron embraced every opportunity to stay active and enjoy the world around him.
Ron was equally known for his love of family and his zest for life. He was never one to shy away from a good time, and some of his happiest moments were spent boating, gathering with loved ones, and creating memories that will be cherished for generations. His warmth, humor, and generous spirit made him the heart of every family moment.
Deeply involved in his community, Ron was an active member of the Hernando de Soto Historical Society and proudly served as Hernando de Soto from 1995-1996. His commitment to service and tradition left a lasting impact on all who knew him.
A Celebration of Life to Honor Ron will be held on April 19, 2026 at the Hernando de Soto headquarters, 605 17th Ave W, Bradenton, FL., from 1-5 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the Hernando de Soto Society in his memory.
