Ronald's obituary
It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Ronald Stokes, who was born on August 23, 1957, and walked into eternity on October 12, 2023. A man cherished by his family and respected by all who knew him, his absence leaves a void that will be hard to fill.
Ronald leaves behind his loving mother, Sandra Stokes; his sisters, Celeste Chamble, Michelle Chamble, and Stephane Combs; his brothers, George Chamble and Bret Carter; and his beloved son, Dorrell Johnson. His life was a testament to the strong family bonds he shared and nurtured with them. His remarkable character shaped not only his life but all those around him.
Ronald's journey through life was marked by determination and dedication. He embarked on his academic pursuit in 1963 when he started elementary school. He graduated from middle school in 1971 and high school from Springfield Gardens in Queens, New York, in 1975. He further broadened his horizon by enlisting in the military in 1977, a decision that spoke volumes about his courage and sense of duty.
Apart from his family, Ronald had a fervor for cooking and much cherished his time in the kitchen. His favorite spice, turmeric, was always within arm's length. He was often spotted at Resort World Casino, one of his favorite local spots. As a dedicated New York Yankees fan, he never missed a chance to watch or talk about their games.
Ronald was not only a man of tastes and hobbies, but he also had a deep-seated passion for certain causes. The Dodge Charger Hellcat was his pride and joy, and his passion for it reflected his zest for life and his love for the speed and thrill it offered.
As we mourn Ronald's passing, let us celebrate his accomplished life and remember him for his enduring love for family, his persistent pursuit of passions, and his commitment to the causes he cared about. His spirit continues to live on in the memories he left us.
