Ronald's obituary
It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Ronald Skidmore, who departed this life on February 16, 2026.
Born on December 1, 1952, Ronald graduated from Shenandoah Valley Academy in Virginia, and was an alumni of Ohio State University, where he was awarded a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology in 1977. He also attended Columbia Union College in Tacoma Park, MD, and Newbold College in England.
He served as a student missionary in Japan in 1973, and fell in love with the beauty of the country and the food, as well as falling in love with a Japanese woman. He returned to live in Japan with his family in 1977 and raised his daughter there. He worked as a translator for Toyota Motor Co. and later freelanced. He traveled extensively throughout the country indulging his hobby of photography, with his family half-willingly in tow.
Ronald is survived by his daughter, Sharon Skidmore. His is also survived by his ex-wife, Eiko Skidmore, who remained a close friend throughout the years, and his nephews, Benjamin and Andrew Strother, and his niece, Sunny Privatera.
Ronald was predeceased by his father, Houston Skidmore, his mother, Hope Skidmore, and his sister, Sandra Black.
