Ronald's obituary
Ronald Robert Murray, passed into glory on March 6, 2024, at Stanford Hospital at the age of 81. Born on June 23, 1942, in Everett, Washington, he was a man of integrity and strong moral character. In his early life, Ron was part of a military family and moved over 36 times.
After high school, he enlisted in the army and was sent to Germany where he engaged in warfare at the Berlin War. Following his military service, he enrolled in the University of Washington as an engineering major. Working his way through college, Ron was a houseboy at Kappa Delta Sorority where he met, dated, and fell in love with his future wife Sandra.
After so many moves in childhood, Ron was eager to settle down and he and his wife bought their home, where he lived for the rest of his life in Belmont, California. On top of working a full-time job, Ron earned a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering at Santa Clara University. During this time he became the proud father of two daughters, Krissie and Wendy.
Ron lived an adventurous life. His passions reigned from sailing to long-distance running, to motorcycling and bicycling. After retirement, he obtained a private pilot’s license and flew all over the state. He loved to travel and organized a travel group that still exists today. His favorite spots were France, Hawaii, and Italy, and he often took his family.
Later in life, Ron became a Christian. He was baptized at First Baptist Church of San Mateo, CA and became a faithful follower of his Savior Jesus Christ. Passionate about studying God’s Word, he started attending Bible Study Fellowship. He quickly bonded with the men in his group and Tuesday nights became a highlight of his week.
He leaves behind memories of love and laughter survived by his wife Sandra of 55 years, two daughters Krissie and Wendy, and four grandchildren Emma, Olive, Dean, and James, whom he adored. After 81 years here on earth, Ron has finished his race. He has given everyone in his family a legacy to live up to and remember. He has entered into the eternal life to which he was called. A good and faithful servant has heard from his Master, “Well Done”.
A celebration of Ron’s life will be held on June 8, 2024 at the First Baptist Church of San Mateo.
