Ronald J, Mahoney, 80, of Stamford, CT passed away Thursday, May 17 after a long illness. Ron grew up in the Highbridge section of the Bronx, and graduated from Xavier High School in Manhattan. He would later graduate from Fordham University. Ron served in the Army National Guard in New York, and the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary Flotilla 1-5. He was a pilot, a boater,an avid fisherman and shooting sportsman and was a member of the Cos Cob Rifle Club and the Fairfield County Fish and Game Protective Association. Ron began his professional career in the early days of computers, becoming a well-respected programmer of large mainframe systems during a span of over three decades.

Ron is survived by his beloved wife Patricia, his daughter Maureen Mahoney of Bridgeport, his son Michael Mahoney and wife Jill of Stratford, grandchildren Ryan (Josie), Lauren, Michael, Brandon, Shannon (Tony), Meghann and Cailynn, as well as several great-grandchildren. A memorial service for family and friends will be held at a future date.
