Ronald's obituary
Ronald L. Davis
Kalamazoo, Michigan
Ronald L. Davis, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and proud patriot, entered Heaven peacefully on October 10, 2025, surrounded by his loved ones. Born in Kalamazoo, Michigan, he was the cherished son of Dale and Barbara Davis and was raised on the family farm in Climax, MI. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Darlene Rowlson, and his brother Dale Davis Jr.
From a young age, Ronald developed a deep love for his country, which led him to proudly serve in the United States Army for two years in Korea, stationed on the DMZ. His patriotism remained a defining part of his character throughout his life. A long-time member of the Climax-Scotts American Legion Post 465, Ronald honored his fellow veterans and served his community with unwavering dedication.
After his military service, Ronald began a career in trucking that spanned over five decades. He worked for Clark Equipment in Battle Creek, MI, and later retired from Yellow Freight in Detroit, MI. He took great pride in his work, known for his incredible craftsmanship and attention to detail in every project he touched. Whether it was building, repairing, or lending a helping hand, Ronald’s servant’s heart shone brightly. He was the kind of man who would drop everything to help someone in need. He was often found giving wise counsel to young people.
Ronald loved Jesus with his whole heart and lived a life marked by faith, service, and generosity. He was a dedicated volunteer in several local churches throughout the years, joyfully sharing his time, talents, and servant’s heart. He found great joy in NASCAR races, working in his workshop, hunting, camping, and spending quality time with his family and friends. In recent years, Ron and Deb spent their winters in sunny Bowling Green, Florida, where they formed lasting friendships and built a cherished community away from home.
Ronald is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Deborah Davis; his son, David (Christina) Davis; his daughter, Ronda Davis; and his stepchildren, Lance Korpas, Joey (Gina) Korpas, and Jill (Nick) Nelson. He was preceded in death by his stepdaughter, Deanna (Randy) Jones.
Ronald’s legacy lives on through his grandchildren: Tyler, Cody, Ally, Ronnie, Devin (Leah), and Victoria, and step-grandchildren: Jakob, Trevor (Hannah), Savannah, Logan (Maura), Kylah, Landon, Tyler, and Zoey. He was also blessed with great-grandchildren: Emma, Barrett, Hunter, Jaxson, Ryder, and Oakley, who brought him great joy.
Ronald will be remembered for his deep faith, tireless work ethic, humble service, and the immeasurable love he poured into the lives of those around him. His life was a testament to kindness, loyalty, and quiet strength.
He will be deeply missed, but his legacy of love and service will live on in all who had the honor of knowing him.
A private family Military service with full honors will be held at Fort Custer National Cemetery in Battle Creek, MI, on Monday, November 3, 2025, at 1 pm.
