I Want to send a Special “Thank You!!” To both Samantha & Polly.  Because I have been So Blessed to be a part of Your Lives-I got to be part of Ron’s too! The cleaning I did for Ron was simply the vehicle by which I got to know this Intelligent, Funny, & Deeply Caring Man!!  The Time with Our Loved Ones is Always too Short!

Love All the Family as We approach this Bittersweet Anniversary -

Ron was always hugely interested in what was going on. He consistently charmed anyone he met with his stories and humor, and instantly became friends with those he encountered. He never lost his love of where he was born, and even at the age of 95 was still talking about moving back to his native Dublin. He was a regular attendee at our Irish Senior Luncheons in Seattle and his wit and wisdom and friendship will be greatly missed.

Ní bheidh a leithéid arís ann – There won’t be the likes of him again!

I sat by him at a Christmas party and was entertained all evening. May he Rest In Peace and I send long hard hugs to his family

What a lovely tribute to a legendary man. I grew up thinking he was larger than life with his exotic travels and wild stories. But such fun. He was also totally accessible, genuine and caring.

I’ll miss him — his jolly big laugh, head thrown back — that’s what I’ll remember. And his love for his family, and vice versa.

How lucky we ALL are to have known him. Great photos. I’ll keep posting picts.  Ron Thompson’s life is well worth celebrating.

My sympathies, and so much love.

XOXO, Caroline

Ron's Epitaph:

"I lived my life the best I could, but never gave up or shunned hard work.

Always kept a sense of adventure. And not afraid of change. Always had a sense of humour, and could enjoy life to the full whenever possible.

Had a great interest and respect for people of all backgrounds and walks of life.

Great love of the female sex, enjoyed travel, interest in reading, history, art, music, Theater and enjoyed dancing. I loved to paint and sketch and sometimes write.

Enjoyed the gentle art of conversation.

Enjoy the wine and smell the roses there is nothing to be sad about I had a long and interesting life.

Good bye my friends"
