Ronald's obituary

My Dad, My Hero

94 years of an amazing life.

Ronald Hill gently left this world on June 12, 2025 to embark on his next adventure, with his loving, caring wife, Colleen, by his side.

He was born in Thornton Idaho to Ida Ruth and Thomas Hill.  He set off on his adventures at a young age.  He joined the US Army in 1949 and served in the Korean war.

My memories are of him working at Gowen Field, maintaining the big pieces of equipment and working in the desert. On all of my trips to Mountain Home, I see the road he built on Cinder Cone Hill.

He liked to camp and fish.  We spent lots of time at Skelton Creek.   "Dad take the hook out of my fish, please."

He was on a bowling league every Thursday night.  He has the trophies and coffee cups to show his love of the game.

My parents spent many winters in Arizona where they met many wonderful new friends.

He and Colleen were married on June 18, 1954.  They raised four children: Rod, Gordon, Jeff and Denise.  They have loving bonus children in LaNae, Kate, Liz and Gary. They receive so many hugs from all of the grandkids and great grandkids.

His inurnment will be at the Idaho State Veterans Cemetery in Boise, Idaho on July 14, 2025 at 11am.  A lunch and celebration will follow.
