Ronald's obituary
Ronald (Ronnie) C. Gallo, 86, of Port Saint Lucie, Florida went home to be with the Lord on May 17th, 2025.
Born on August 17, 1938, in Paterson, New Jersey, Ronnie spent most of his life in the bar business—telling stories, making friends, and ensuring no glass stayed empty for too long. He was, without question, the life of the party.
For over 40 years, Ronnie shared his life with his beloved Carol, who stood by his side through every laugh, every inappropriate story, every good meal and every perfectly-shaken cocktail. He leaves behind a void in her heart and in the hearts of many that no amount of Sinatra or macaroni will ever quite fill.
Ronnie leaves behind two sons, Russell (Rusty) and Ronald, their families and a sister, Lois Zonderman. He also leaves behind a loving extended family through Carol who adored him for his charm, wit, and signature brand of off-color wisdom.
He’s predeceased by his parents, Charles and Edna (Winters) Gallo, his brother, Robert Aprile, as well as many dear friends and family members.
A true character, Ronnie had a passion for good food, a nice cocktail, the infamous sauce vs gravy debate, wearing his socks on the appropriate feet, and a conversation with anyone willing to pull up a stool. He never met a stranger. We’ll miss watching him weigh every meatball with the precision of a jeweler, his sharp sense of humor, his wildly inappropriate commentary, and his surprisingly sage life advice.
Per his wishes, there will be no services. Ronnie didn’t care much for ceremony—but he did believe in a well-poured drink, a good laugh, and a well-lived life. Though we mourn the loss of Ronnie, we celebrate the love he brought to the world.
