Ron's obituary

With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Ronald "Ron" Duggan, a remarkable man distinguished by his serious yet caring nature, who passed away on July 7, 2023. Born on October 30, 1941, Ron possessed a dryly humorous yet polite demeanor that brought joy to those around him.

Ron was a well-educated man, holding a degree in Sociology from the prestigious University of San Francisco. His life was filled with impressive accomplishments, such as teaching ski lessons at Sky Tavern, walking to little league baseball games with his brother, actively taking part in his children's school and sports activities, and more importantly, the monumental task of being a loving dad to his son and daughter. However, Ron's grandest achievement stemmed from his wonderful ability to instill the lessons of persistence and facing each day with positivity and energy within his loved ones.

Ron's legacy embodies a deep-seated love for skiing, sports (Gonzaga Basketball), and most significantly, his family. His infectious smile and unique sense of humor will be sorely missed but fondly remembered. As the sun continues to "rise and shine" each morning, his teachings will live on in the hearts of those he left behind.

Ron is survived by his favorite daughter, Karen Ruttke, and his beloved son, Matthew Duggan. He was an adored grandfather to Robert, Ryan, and Nicholas Duggan, and Kathryn and Kristin Ruttke. He also leaves behind his brother, Bob Duggan, and his sisters, Nancy Mousel, Rosemary Duggan, and Kathleen Calder. He was predeceased by his treasured parents, Marion and Laurence Duggan and his very loved nephew Demian Duggan.

In lieu of flowers, donations are being collected for the Carmelite Monastery of Reno, a cause close to Ron's heart. For those wishing to contribute, please visit https://everloved.com/life-of….

Together, let us honor the life of Ronald "Ron" Duggan, a man who loved deeply, taught persistently, and lived fully. In our hearts, his legacy will forever endure.
