Ron's obituary

It is with great sadness that we are announcing the death of our beloved husband, father, and son, Ronald Jason Clarkson on Saturday, December 11, 2021.

A gentle soul who always had a smile on his face, Ron was born on January 23, 1971, in Boca Raton, Florida. He was the son of Judith (Meyer) Richter and Ronald Dean Clarkson. Ron attended Anderson High School in Austin, Texas. He worked at Bluepoint Games where he held the position of Senior IT Systems Engineer.

On October 23, 1999, Ron married Tanya Black in Cedar Creek, Texas, at the home of her parents. They have been blessed with two children: Morgan, a Sophomore at the University of Oklahoma, and Ronald Nolan, a Junior in high school.

There was nothing more important to Ron than his children. He was so proud of their accomplishments. He cherished every moment he spent with them whether it be sailing, exploring or traveling. His family spent every summer taking amazing vacations providing so many wonderful memories.

Ron was an avid reader, sailor, and hobbyist. His passion was learning, and he was particularly interested in astronomy, music, and of course sailing. He fiddled with the guitar, banjo, ukulele and would often entertain the family and friends with his music and gentle sense of humor.

In addition to his wife and children, Ron is survived by his brother, Michael Dean; his aunt and uncle, Rev. Willard and Stephani Meyer of Illinois; two cousins, Reuben and Holly Meyer, also of Illinois; his nephew, Vaughn Clarkson, and niece, Gracie Clarkson, both of Texas; his in-laws, Water and Georgene Black; brothers-in-law Darren (Jan) Black of San Antonio and Michael Black of Austin; and his best friend, Mike Benedict.

Ron was preceded in death by an infant brother, Daniel Ron Clarkson; his grandparents, Willard and Leona Meyer of Illinois and Ron’s paternal grandparents of Minnesota.

We will think of Ron in every calm and quiet morning, hear his voice in the wind and see his brilliance in every glowing sunset.

A Celebration of Life memorial will be held on Sunday, January 23, 2022, from 2-4pmon his 51st birthday. It will be held at the Austin Yacht Club on Lake Travis from 2-4pm. Visitors are requested to share stories, memories, music, photos or other mementos of time shared together.
