Ronny Mack's obituary
In memory of Ronald Mack Canady, a remarkable man with a tough-as-nails exterior and a heart as tender as marshmallow fluff. Born on May 19, 1942, Ronny Mack left us on Oct 7, 2023, but his memory remains a blessing to many, and his influential life continues to inspire.
Ronny Mack’s personality was a unique blend of sarcasm and directness that often kept us on our toes, yet his inherent kindness and caring mostly shone through his ornery shell. His wisdom, often pragmatically conveyed through phrases such as "It's not what you say, it's how you say it" and his "will do" attitude, has left a lasting impact on all who knew him. His example taught us that even in the face of adversity, like losing much of his sight and still serving as the family handy man, we too can face anything life throws our way.
Ronny Mack's achievements are many. His service in the Navy, his 2-years in Naval Reserves, his successful retirement from not one but two careers (GTE NW 30-years and Gilbert School District 5-years), his dedication to his family, and his willingness to support many political and advocacy adventures. Perhaps his best accomplishment was winning the heart of his 'Trish' and building a life together filled with warmth, love and fun.
There are countless moments that show the kind of life he led. Whether it was shoveling the sidewalk on Christmas morning so his children could ride their new bikes, building an ice skating rink in the backyard, taking camping trips all over the Pacific NW, or the unforgettable trips to Disneyland; Ronny Mack always put his family first. And whether it was building cages for injured/orphaned wildlife, checking the neighborhood lights each month; driving canvassers door-to-door, or fixing up the Canady compound; he used his considerable skills to help.
His legacy continues in the heart-warming memories he gifted his loved ones with. His beloved wife Patricia Louise, their children Brian James and Kelly Anne, and his cherished grandkids Mack Arthur and Sydney Ellis, are all testament to the love and devotion he held for his family.
A Celebration of life for Ronny Mack will be held on Jul 13, 2024 at 12:00 PM at 25 Moss St, Pawcatuck, CT. We invite you to join in celebrating the life of a man whose influence and love will forever be etched in the hearts of those who knew him.
